Mayur Nankar’s vision is to bring exceptional, community-centred, evidence-informed physiotherapy to Manitoba. As the owner of St.James Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Center in Winnipeg, he brings clinical experience, research and professional leadership to a practical purpose: helping people move with confidence and participate in the activities that matter to them.

Mayur completed his physiotherapy studies in India in 2010 and earned his Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba in 2016. His research explored healthy aging, fall-risk assessment and approaches to improving balance in older adults. He has authored or co-authored more than a dozen research papers through his work at the University of Manitoba.

His background includes work at Health Sciences Centre as a research associate and Manitoba coordinator for the Rick Hansen spinal cord injury database. His continuing education includes Level 2 upper- and lower-quadrant orthopedic manual therapy, acupuncture and dry needling, supporting his approach to musculoskeletal physiotherapy and injury rehabilitation.

His commitment to care extends beyond the clinic. Mayur serves as Chair of the Orthopedic Division Manitoba and Rural & Remote Chair of the Manitoba Physiotherapy Association, reflecting his dedication to the profession and to communities across the province.

Brian Kushner

Senior Physiotherapist

Brian founded St.James Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Center in 1988. He first studied Physical Education at Lakehead University, developing a foundation in exercise programming and strength development, before completing his physiotherapy degree at the University of Manitoba.

His physiotherapy career began in 1970 at Misericordia General Hospital. During 13 years there, he worked as a staff physiotherapist and later as Assistant Supervisor of Physiotherapy.

Since establishing St. James Rehab, Brian has continued his education in myofascial release, spinal and extremity mobilization, foot assessment and orthotics. His background connects hands-on treatment with exercise and rehabilitation.

Brian accepts appointments part time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:30 am to noon. Book through Juvonno to see his available appointments.

Do I need a referral?

You can contact us directly for physiotherapy. Some insurance plans require a referral for reimbursement, so check your plan before your appointment.

Can you bill my insurance or injury claim?
